Our session was fun, friendly and easy going with no pressure, even though Lisa had 3 small boys to cajole into various poses. We enjoyed the experience very much. The viewing session was also a happy pressure-free experience. We had plenty of time afterwards to make our decisions. We now have some very beautiful and special photos of our four grandsons. Lisa is a consumate professional and we recommend without hesitation.
Your story … framed!
Portraits capture the real you, a thousand stories can be seen in a great photograph. Each time you view your portrait you’ll relive a great memory.
Your portrait experience will be a laughter-filled day, centred around you and your needs. The session will be fun and natural, with no worries or hurries. The best shots can take a while, but with a sense of fun in a relaxed atmosphere, we’ll work together to capture your true nature and create a portrait telling your story.
I’m more than used to working with large families, tired babies and grumpy teens! I have years of making even the most camera-shy individuals shine; the day is yours and I will make sure you, your family members or friends all have a wonderful experience.
Capturing Your Experience
From start to finish I guide you through each step. I know you may feel reticent about being photographed; I think this can make us all feel a little uneasy. I have years of photographic knowledge and it’s my job to ensure you have a fantastic day resulting in a beautiful portrait heirloom you’ll love to see every day.

Your Portrait Day
When booking your experience, we will discuss how you want your portrait to look, this includes considering clothes and styles. The goal is to look and feel great, but the outfits should not distract from you!
If you would like to make more of your experience, I can organise a professional make-up artist and hairdresser to make you feel and look amazing for your shoot, ensuring your portrait captures you at your best.
Portrait clothing tips:
Avoid highly patterned or brightly coloured clothes. These obscure from the main focal point of a portrait – your face
Do consider coordinated, block colours and themes for everyone’s clothing. Black and white look great in portraits as they work well with most skin tones. Equally, shades of grey, blue and even yellow can be effective depending on location and background
- Feel free to buy a special wardrobe for your experience, but I suggest you wear the clothes a couple of times before your day. Make sure to wash and iron them beforehand so they feel comfortable
- Keep jewellery to a minimum
- Consider whether haircuts are required
‘On the day’ personal portrait tips
- Do bring spare clothes – we can all, and especially small children, attract dirt on a shoot!
- Remember to bring any relevant props we’ve previously discussed
- Please bring all your baby’s requirements eg nappies, favourite toys, milk etc. (I appreciate this may require a trailer!)
- Should everything go wrong, I stock plain black and white t-shirts in all sizes, which can be worn on the day!
